Hair colouring question?? please helpp?

i%26#039;m going to graduate soon (from middle) and im plannning on highlighting my hair. I have naturally asian full black hair and i havent highlighted it before. I want to know what suitable colours there are for me to highlight my hair with, with the exception of bleaching it. my hair is thin as well so it makes it difficult for me to do anything with my hair and im afraid bleaching it would make it worse.... so i%26#039;m just wondering what highlights if i plan to in the end get some would look nice on me??”





btw i had orignially wanted purple but then with my black hair i%26#039;m not sure if it%26#039;ll show. Please help me?

If you have shiny black healthy hair ~ what do you need highlights for?





Mousy hair needs highlights to give it some life.

Nothing will show through very well if its hard black, so you would need to bleach it but i would go to a hairdresser for that.


and purple looks good on black hair =]
Reply:Whatever you do, don%26#039;t use bleach because it will come out looking sort of orangey-brassy and that%26#039;s not a good thing. Those products don%26#039;t recommend someone with black hair to use them so purple would probably be just fine. Maybe even hot pink. I saw a girl with magenta highlights once and she had very dark hair and it looked very cool. It kind of depends on what you like.... and if you wanted to go subtle you could always add brown highlights and that would brighten it up some. I hope that helps.
Reply:purple will show if you were to bleach your hair 1st. also just so you know most public schools have rules against funky crazy colors so purple may be out of the question for you. purple would be using a semi permanent dye which means you have to prelighten the hair 1st.....bleach.....then you aplly the purple. it also washes out very fast. every time you wash your hair it comes out.....meaning it is messy. it stains your towels,sheets etc.......


i would recommend that you get like a lighter brown to a caramel highlight. this usually looks really good with having black hair, but again bleach may be required depending on how light you want to go.
